Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins is an Mexican American Sportscaster. She works as an ESPN anchor for news and also hosts SportsNation sometimes. She started working at ESPN in 2016. She is the daughter television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins has been a bilingual since the age nine years old. This is a beneficial ability that allowed her to secure her first job as a production associate at Univision in Miami where she had the opportunity to interact with producers of national shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. A CBS subsidiary that is located in St. Petersburg hired her for a position as a sports reporter. Her move from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at the Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. The newscast covered stories related to immigration as well as trafficking in drugs on both sides of the Texas-Mexico border, she worked as a reporter on an evening newscast at 5. p.m. Spanish newscast a reporter and later anchor of nine p.m. newscast in English and also another reporter for the 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. Her duties as an anchor for weather, sports or other events were also frequently requested. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's station affiliated with Dallas. She was also given more duties. In the same capacity as Primer Impacto on UniMas Network, and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collins' grandparents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. She was born November 22 1984 and was raised in Mexico City. She is more mature than her younger sister. In 1992 the family left Mexico to go to the US and relocated to Miami. The couple divorced shortly after and her mother was remarried to an architect from the naval profession named Fabio Fajardo who died of kidney cancer in 2006. In June of 2006, she went to spend a week with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl worked there. Antonietta was a senior high school student However, she was very aware of her goals for the future. She visited Mount Union University in order to decide if it would be a good fit for her. The campus was a dream for her. It also gave her the major that she desired. She finished school and enrolled at the college to study media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor as well as the director of WRMU where she is a member. They developed a close relationship. The professor who taught her Mark Bergmann inspired her by his passion for journalism. He also deeply impacted her.
